OK Houston Crew and anyone else who is interested:

1. We are having the THIRD annual Houston ARFCOM Crew's New Years Eve Day Shoot.

LOCATION: The Impact Zone in Brookshire. This is a nicer place to shoot that the SHNF. It is a private club, but the owner welcomes our attendance. He is asking for $10.00 a person to shoot. For $10.00 the Houston ARFCOM Crew gets:

Entry Fees:
Members: No fee, we already paid
Non-Members: $10.00 for all day- Phil is re-working the bays, adding shelter in each bay and raising hte berms.  He also has a 200yd range in the works.

Time: 12:00 noon until night

NFA Weapons:
a. Have your paperwork with you. Any Illegal NFA weapons and their owners will be sent home. Those of us that have legal NFA weapons do not want to see the illegal shit or be associated with it.
b. If you have Full Auto, Keep it under control. Keep it under the top of the berm.
c. If you want to shoot some full auto, refer yourself to the ammo section below.
d.  DO NOT SHOOT STEEL WITH A RIFLE

Facilities:
1. ROAD: Its passable in a car.
2. COVER: There may be some cover depending on the bay that we are in.
3. CHAIRS: Bring field chairs
4. RESTROOMS: Porta Potties and the field

Range Rules: If anything I post conflicts with Phil's rules, then his rules apply unless he approves a variance from the posted rules:
1.  Variance #1:  Fruit is OK if shot on the berms
2.  Clay pigeons are allowed

1. AMMO:
a. No Tracers- it scares the cows and neghbors.
b. Bring your own ammo and lots of it.
1. If you want to shoot machineguns BE COURTEOUS! Stop at Wally World and get Winchester value packs in 100rd boxes (.45 acp and 9mm preferred along with 5.56mm) and bring your own. Most of us who have machineguns like to share them, BUT it gets expensive feeding my machinegun habit and your machinegun habit at the same time.
2.  If you are going to shoot a dealer's machineguns- offer to buy his ammo or make a generous donation to him so he can maintain the wear and tear on his firearms.
2. TARGETS:
a. DO NOT SHOOT THE STEEL TARGETS with rifles! Read below! Not only does it piss Phil off because he has to patch holes in his targets, but rifle bullets hitting steel plates at 50 yards have a nasty tendency to change direction and head back toward the firing line at lethal velocities. DO NOT SHOOT THE STEEL TARGETS WITH RIFLES! Get it?
b. No computers, TVs, VCRs Etc. Leaves lots of small sharp peices of trash that Phil and I will have to pick up.
c. CAR and AIRPLANES: These are allowed if you haul them out with you at the end of the day! Anyone got a King Air they want to get rid of?
d. Fruits, Vegitables, Watermelons: As Phil plans to re-seed the berm in a few months, these are encouraged. Just take the watermelon rinds with you.
e. Clay Pigeons: These are OK also
f. Paper targets and hangers: Bring your own!

3. SAFETY:
a. The Buddy system will be used. When you come off the line, have the guy next to you visually check you chamber to verify that it is empty. Guys, this is simple. Have your buddy verify clear when you come off the line!
b. See below for a more detailed look at the safety rules!
c. KEEP YOUR FREAKIN' FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER and the MUZZLE pointed down at all times!
d.  DO NOT SWEEP ANYONE WITH THE MUZZLE OF YOUR WEAPON:  Muzzle discipline is of paramount importance!  We all know it, so practice it!
e. BUMP FIRING: Guys, Phjil has expressed concern about this. Some people have gotten REAL close to sending rounds over the berm! While not outright banned, this is discouraged. If you are going to Bumpfire your weapon FROM THE HIP, do NOT send rounds over the berm or even halfway up the berm. We do not want this PRIVILEGE canceled and the practice of the ART of Bump firing banned from yet another range.

f.  NO LOADED WEAPONS BEHIND THE LINE!  Again, load and unload on the line!  Remember, a few shoots back, someone put an M-16 in the rack with a round in the chamber!

4. BBQ:
a. Phil has at least one grill that holds at least 5lbs of charcol.
b. Bring stuff to grill!

5. Drinks: Bring what you will need with you!

6.  Common Sense:A.

a.  We can have a lot of fun out there, but EVERYONE must exercise common sense.
b.  DO NOT SHOOT THE STEEL WITH RIFLES!  Anyone not get this by now?  It keeps happening and its dangerous to me, Mrs_SC-Texas and everyone else.  It also destroys the steel and pisses Phil off!  This is bad JU-JU- GOT IT YET?
c.  The most effective safety for your weapon is your BRAIN!  IS IT ON?
d.  We will have range officers:  Listen to them and follow their instructions.

7.  Activities::   These are the proposed activities
A.  Bay 1:  Line Abreast- pistol- steel targets
B.  Bay 2:  Line Abreast-Rifles
C.  Bay 3:  3 gun
D.  Bay 4:  IPSC stage
E.  Bay 5:  Clay pigeons:  SMGs and shotguns w/ Rabbit thrower
F.  We will have regular cease fires to change targets, unlike last year.

Hi guys, can I come?? Just moved to Spring Texas, from Chicago 2 weeks ago. (and am loving it!) My Texas S-Corp just got set up and I'll finally be able to buy all those neat toys I've always wanted!!

By the way if any of you guys have a mac or uzi - please bring them and I'll pick up the ammo. Never shot full auto and want to see which one is for me (as the M16 has just gotten out of my price range) THANKS!

Hey guys & gals

There is a  new covered areas 18’x21’ in bay 2 and next Wed they deliver another one for bay 4.
As I told Sean I will set up bay 2 with  steel and 4x4 stump shoot posts, bay 3 the 50 yard will be set up for rifle and in bay 4 we will set up a tactical stage that will be for all weapon systems followed by the running rabbit machine,  there will be a small fee to cover the cost of the targets for the rabbit machine.

As far as bump firing, it will be restricted to Bay 1 or 5 and a distance of 20 yards or less from the berm there will be no steel in that bay! You want to bump fire a pumpkin to death knock your self out, but my money’s on the pumpkin LOL

The Tactical stage will be run by seasoned RO’s from IDPA and IPSC, These guys run with scissors all the time as well as run behind guys with scissors, and they know how to do it and enforce it safely. Their main concern is the safety of you and others, they are nice guys not range Nazi’s and will help you in any way they can, but again their main concern is safety  Some of the things you may hear and need to respond to immediately are  MUZZLE,  point it down or down range,  FINGER remover it from the trigger guard, and hold it straight along side, STOP this means just what it says. If you don’t respond to their commands Immediately  you will be stop  immediately! you will be given two warnings and then they will stop you  if you continue to pose a danger to yourself or others.  The whole idea behind running this stage is a chance for a lot of you guys to see where the real fun begins, and that is when you start to use these weapon system in the seniors that they where intended to be used in. It is also a great chance to test and evaluate your equipment and all the do dads you have bolted onto it. Blowing up fruit & veggies is fun but after you exit a car engage 3 bad guys and charge on to a school bus taking out the rest of the bad guys, saving the worlds beautiful children along with saving their beautiful princes school teacher, (the spoils of war) the rest is kind of mundane & mediocre.

Stay safe and I
hope to see you all there
Phil

Guys, as you may know, I may or may not be there, BUT, I can have shirts made for us by my good friend who runs a screen-printing biz.  He can have them made and shipped to me by the 31st, and I was gonna hand them out at the shoot, would anyone be interested in this?  Something like, "Ringing in the New Year with a 3 round burst, Arfcom Houston Crew New Years Eve shoot." and have a graphic as well.  Let me know, I thought it would be something everyone would want.  If I can't go at the last second I'll give them to someone who is going to hand out.

I have a bunch of empty freon drums (freon and oil free) available to shoot.  Will it be ok if I bring a bunch of these to shoot up?  I have shot these out in the country many times and pretty much everything will go right through them (no danger of bullet bounce back).  i will also haul off the shot up cans when we are through.

That way,  I and Holland GW, and others could actually legally sell lowers and firearms there.

Nevermind

there will be 50 guns there and you can count me as a vendor

ed to say put me down for a shirt.  XXL Please!

make it nice.  something that says "AR15.com" and "Houston Crew"
maybe a Texas Flag and a AR15 rifle.
