Went out to BOTW to sight in my scope and talked with two guys.  Hopefully Alex and Chris will make it out Sunday.

If Chris does come out, it will be weird to look up to someone.  I don't have to do that very often. ;)

Had problems with my new Glock 34 not holding open.  Alex helped me diagnose the problem.  Even though it feels good to have my thumb on the slide release, it does not help.

I hear that. I am not a fan of the extended controls on the G34.

I love the extend mag release.  I had it on my 19 as well, but took it off b/c it is also my cc and was digging into my side, and if I moved just right, it would release the mag, no beuno.

Still undecided on the slide release.

Likewise!  Congrats on your recent 3-Gun win at CCPC - we need to squad together on Sunday.
Forecast calls for 50% chance of rain on Sat and 10% on Sunday - hoping it won't be too nasty at BOTW.

Here is the update fellas...

match is still on as of 1/29 7:30PM

MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR EMAILS (if on mailing list) TOMORROW MORNING FOR WEATHER UPDATE BEFORE LEAVING FOR THE MATCH.  Currently, forecast looks like scattered T-Storms throughout the night and into the AM up until 11ish then sunny for the rest of the day

ALSO, although the email didn't include round count for slugs, make sure you bring out a box or 2 as we will be having a stage with slugs

Is anything going to go out about the slugs?  Imagine quite a few folks will show up without them.

I shot Sheldon an email asking about slugs and he replied "none". Of course, I always bring a few.

Then again - he may not have read your stage description. Like I said, I always bring a few.

I will be rolling before sunrise to get there in time for help. Here is hoping for an early email if its necessary.

See you men tomorrow morning - been way too long since I shot a good 3-gun match (more than a month).
Looking forward to this one!

Sure - but it's a hell of a lot more fun to shoot than watch.  Just bring ear and eye protection (eye protection is critical since we'll be shooting steel).  Hope you can make it out.

How about a bad 3gun match?

No email, no rain (at my house) looks good.

I would have liked to attend but I'm traveling for work this week and wanted to spend some time with my little monsters.  Can't wait to hear the recap especially the WWII shooters...now I need to clean the cosmo off my Garand.

Fun and challenging match.  If you didn't make it out, you missed a good one men.
Lots of free-style run and gun - multiple flying clays, rifle shots to 480, and itty-bitty pistol targets at 28 yards.

A good core-group of talented, experienced shooters and a nice turnout of brand new / newish shooters.  If you're on the fence about coming out just remember - we were all new once.  Bring a good attitude, focus on safety, and I guarantee you'll learn a lot and have a good time.

ETA - squadded with Lmccrock, Gorilla Tactical, and biga9999 (I'm 6'4", but biga9999 is freaking huge) - along with several other folks.  Great squad who really busted their ass to keep things moving.

Congrats Doug.

Always fun to shoot with Josh, Doug, Lee and everybody else.

I figure I have 2-3 more matches before I get moved from the "newish shooter" category to the "just making everyone else look good" category.  Luckily my times did not reflect the amount of fun I had.

What, your Garand is not all cleaned off ready to go?

WW2 division was Garand, single stack 45, pump shotgun. Just 2 in it this time; there was not much notice. It was a "challenge", so it may not be be a regular thing. I might have tried it, but was already planning to shoot Limited (iron sights). Biggest problem for me is not knowing where my Garand zeroes are, since it has been a while since I shot them at any distance. Maybe next time.

By the way - next month there is not a regular TX Multigun match; that weekend is the AR15Targets Texas State 2-Gun Match.

ETA: There will be a TX Multigun match the Saturday before the 2-gun. Details forthcoming.

I got it from the CMP in Dec and just tossed it in the closet so I haven't even cleaned the cosmo off it!  Let me know if you'll volunteer for that job!!!!  I shoot my pump in the regular matches but don't own a 45.  I do have a old 9mm that is 8 rounds single stack so maybe I could have used that.  Not a Luger but they did have 9's in WW2 so maybe I could have passed.
