Me..'Cause air support usually means duck and cover.
M2 Bradley Vs. A-10???????????? Done deal. |
If said A-10 is engaging an M2 Bradley, shit's gone awry--badly. |
Situations like that, That I fully support giving the Close Air Support roll back to the ARMY..... Or Better yet... Lets just give the entire Air Force back to the ARMY. |

Yeeha! I'm there!
ETA: Although their security restrictions do seem to be a bit, uhh, TSA like. www.mcchordairexpo.com/security.html |
Yes and no. Unfortunately due errors and lack of communication between pilot and the Army guy on the ground, they've also called in munitions on themselves on accident. Calling in Helo's is one thing but but fast movers and the sort of fast(A-10) ;) you have to be qualified and they prefer JTACs. Oh yah and I would go but i'm over playing with the badguys right now |

Im going to be there the 19th, should be great to see the F22, and the Osprey in person
Hmmm... I could make it on the 19th (going shooting on the 20th ).
Yeah, screw that. Been to plenty of airshows, been in and around plenty o' planes.
I don't go places where I can't be armed, if I can help it, period. Just call me a big ol' FUDD! |
Big ol' FUDD! |
Damn, damn, damn.
I gotta work a 1/2 day Saturday and need to take care of some other stuff. Looks like I won't be going after all. |
90% there. (ok, 35%..... working on it) |
I'll be there...Green Arfcom shirt, towing 106 kids with me (ok, only 3). If you see me, say "hi". |
So the show was good, we tried to leave early (4-ish), just got home now. Seems the US Mobility command has some issues with directing traffic.
Good show I'll post up pics tomorrow when I get the chance. I tried to leave around the same time. Got to my car around 3:30 and got stuck waiting... |
They didn't do Tora Tora Tora on Sunday, and I lost the ignition-kill tab for my Jeep.
Thunderbirds were pretty spiffy, though. |
Yes, they did do the Tora, Tora, Tora show on Sunday. A little scary actually. My daughter was. ETA: Did anyone get the story behind the dent on the A-10? |
Shit, they did? When? We got there when the Superbug was doing its display, then the Granleys were up in their Yaks, then I think it was the T-birds. The lineup showed Tora Tora Tora towards the end of the sequence... did they change it up on Sun? |

Out of ammo but not targets? RAMMING SPEED! Fix bayonets! Prepare to charge! CHARGE! |
That F-18 was sweet in person. Ive seen pictures of it maneuvering and forming the cloud, but never in person like that. It was great
Cool pics.....those "Zeros" are a tad on the fat side. |
The Super Hornet was my favorite |
I live like 10 minutes from McChord and wasn't able to make the show. That Really Sucked. Did my ATF plane, the Bone show up?
Saw that too, was thinking bird strike. |
Thanks, man, ya made my heart go pittypat. |

Thanks. I'm in the market for a new camera and those pictures are awesome. Goggled your camera and it is VERY pricey. Do you know of any deals on them or similar cameras?
Nice Hi-jack huh? |
Yeah don't I know it but that's what it costs to play the game. After 70,000 some odd exposures my D80 is getting a little long in the tooth and I'm in the market for a D300 now. I just need to find a body part I'm willing to let go of to finance that little deal.
However,it all depends on what you want to do. Sticking with Nikon (because I've had very good luck with them and it's all I know in DSLR's) a D60 or even a D40 might be right up your alley. Go to some place like bhphoto.net and a D40 or D60 kitted with a nice wide angle zoom lens will run you about $480 and $670 respectively. The differences between those two bodies are notable (CCD resolution and a few bells and whistles) but the key is really the lenses. The basic package I went with was an 18-70mm nikon lens and the 70-300 nikon lens. That's a fairly good zoom range and they're some nice pieces of glass. |
22306, those pix give me wood! Wow, I am seriously appreciative of your posting them. Having missed the show, they really help. I'm also humbled by your camera-fu. My inability to take any decent pictures is known throughout the land. +106 to you and your camera.

Thanks for the compliments. Here's a few more and I'll stop showing off. With absolutely everyone having a camera nowadays the competition is getting pretty stiff.
