Hey Everyone,
After seeing the thread in the NY forum about why there hasn't been a good Calverton shoot this year, I figured its time to work on something off the board if I can't do it on the board. I'm aiming for two weeks from now on either October 8th or 9th. Helldog, do you think we can put something together that quickly? Can someone put something on the NY forum and start IMing every NY member like I used to do to make them aware of the meet?

On the first thread, it should be posted that this is a BYO type deal and we should have a list of the essentials on so people can pick and choose what they should bring. Plates, utensils, drinks (water, juices, sodas), donuts for the morning, chips, (salsa?), burgers/dogs/sausages, buns of all varieties, kraut, mustard, catsup, relish, and anything else I forgot. (Well, besides Helldog's portokitchen!) If anything else needs to be done or if I forgot anything, email me or the others and we'll get this rolling. Oh yeah, is a pig roast possible?

First though is finding a good date and finding it quickly. Remember, the sooner the better, since hunters will be a likely hazard the later we let this go. So I'd like to keep this in the sooner than later category. Additionally, the week after is the West Point match, which I'm sure you guys are planning on attending, so we'd have to go 4 weeks out if not on the weekend of the 8th. Mark, your thoughts?

I don't have franksquid. green18, RodgerDodger, Bill3Rail or mag162's email addresses, I attempted to send this email to their arfcom addresses and a bunch of team member's addresses, but I don't know if they'll go through. If you guys can go through that NY Board member's roll call thread and IM each person individually, that'd be great.
PPS. I included a couple of the group shots going back to our beginnings in 2002, I hope I didn't nuke your email accounts with their size!

*sigh* Until the Sgt Exam, my Saturdays are booked for promotional class. I could do the 9th, but the 8th is a no go, unless you guys are planning to be there after 3 (class is in Staten Island.)

I think it might be a good idea to ask if we should bring our own little grills or extra coleman propane cans as backup. In case one goes down or runs out of fuel. Also, can anyone tell us where we can get ammo at a good price in the area or where? I got a feeling many of us are in need of more for the shoot.

I'm sorry to tell you that after several months of planning, the Social Director is moving to Pennsylvania tomorrow.

While I'll be keeping a new, smaller place nar the City to use during the week, I doubt if I'll see the Island much, if ever, on the weekends as I'll be going out past Port Jervis on I84 rather than south over the Whitestone.

More details to follow as I get time...network shutting down now and no Web aces until at least next week....

We really nee about 40 people or so to really roast a pig. If not I will load up the gas grill and its burgers and franks or a 6ft hero. A pig needs more planning and prep. And I will be there with 2 or 3 guests or shit just me but then again I can eat for 2 or 3!!!!! So can Phobia !!!!!!!

I'll definately go. If the shit list is low then I'll bring my appetite. Last shoot, I brought strudels and cookies. The cookies seemed to be a hit so I'll bring those again unless the list of attendees grows and we'll break it down from there. But like Balzac said, this shoot is coming up soon so we should have a lot planned by now. Only problem is that not a lot are responding right now.

Being the new guy, what do people like to drink? I'll bring H20, Snapple, Soda (Pop anybody from PA), or whatever the group likes. Let me know. I have some big boat coolers. Also, as far as food goes I am like 6'4" 260lbs before lunch so I eat for 2!

Also, what time do you usually get going being the noob that I am?

Forecast is currently a 60% chance of rain at Calverton on Saturday. Is this a rain or shine event? As it stands, I am pretty close to being able to go (plus another board member) but a 3-hour drive each way is not in the cards for me if its not a definite go regardless of weather...

yet, but would it be possible for someone to pick me up at home(12 min from the range) in the early morning and drive me back home in the late morning. My daughter's 1st birthday party is the 8th @ 1400. My wife'll be doing the party prep. I may be able to escape in the morning if I get permission.

Otherwise I can't make it. I can't drive on all these drugs.

We'll I can, just not straight. Which is fine, as most roads are curvy.

Nobody has responded that they wanna bring a grill so I suggest sandwiches and chips and donuts and stuff like that. I'm going anyway rain or shine so lets see if those Jersey boys will make it out to our shoot. Hell if its raining hard we'll just head over to JR's Steak house and see if any one of us can eat that 72 oz steak!!!!!!

J&R's? Why? Boulder Creek Steak House is like 5 minutes away from Calverton.
