Right now I'm waiting for the S&W Mountain Gun to come out in .357 again. Last time it was a 686+. I've shot one and it it SWEET.

Favorite revolver that I currently own; Ruger Vaquero .44mag

I like my Taurus 425 ss Tracker in .41 mag, not to big and not to small just right.

Stainless Super RedHawk in .44 Magnum, 6.75 barrel with a 2X Leupold. One of my most acurate handguns.

I tried the action on one of those in a gun store last year and couldn't believe how nice it was out of the box. I kick myself for not getting one because you can't buy Ruger revolvers here in MA anymore (Ruger doesn't want to comply with the state requirements)

Revolver- 6" Python from 1958. It has a true 6 and 1/2 pound DA only trigger and is smooth as my wife's boobs.

Pistol - Bill Wilson built 1911 on a ParaOrdnance frame from back when Bill did them.

Single Shot - XP100 in 7mmBR with a gorgeus Walnut and Maple Laminated thumbhole stock

That was tough!

I love my Model 19 Combat Magnum. It is my most accurate centerfire.
Link Posted: 10/24/2001 7:32:54 AM EST
MkVI Webley in .455

Ugly, no frills, and a bore that looks like it belongs on a Missouri class battleship..

My 5 1/2 barreled Stainless Ruger Redhawk in .44 Magnum.

Smith and Wesson Model 586 Distinguished Combat Magnum. 6" barrel, .357 magnum.

My personal favorite.

Colt King Cobra 6" S/S .357 Magnum, although I really want S/S Python. The King Cobra is the pre-enhanced version.

My favorite is a Uberti "Colt Clone", 4 3/4 barrel, nickle plated in .45lc with walnut grips. Awsome fit, finish and caliber.

I have a 3" bbl S&W Model 10 (10-8) that is sweet. Box stock but it's got the slickest DA stroke I've ever tried. I guess the guy that assembled it was having a good day!
Link Posted: 11/11/2001 9:55:14 PM EST
Ruger model GKGP-161.

Polished stainless GP-100 with the 6" full underlug bbl. and adjustable sights in .357.

Link Posted: 11/12/2001 5:59:50 PM EST
Well, I guess it would have to be my S&W 6" 629 as it's the only revolver I own.
Link Posted: 11/14/2001 6:11:24 PM EST
629 here too. BOOM! And it looks good too.

Python. Most beautiful handgun made. Maybe.

SW 27. It's had some work done on it, full house .357 all day and butter smooth.

This one has my attention at the present:

But my SP101 that Jack Weigand breathed on holds it's own in my thoughts when it comes to revolvers.

Bandito I love the hunter model ruger
they are so sweeeeet.......
Link Posted: 11/29/2001 5:09:42 PM EST
My favorite would also have to be the only one I own, a Ruger GP-100 DAO revolver in stainless steel, bead blasted, with a smooth trigger job. Picked it up dirt cheap used while I save for a .40 H&K or a Para LDA 16-40

I love the old S&W 5 screw N frames.
Smoothest actions Smith ever built.

When it comes to revolvers, I love all my Rugers.. Old Model 3 screw blackhawk, new model super blackhawk and the Vaquero.

The nicest revolver I ever shot wasn't mine. It was a Smith & Wesson Model 19 that belonged to my ex-father-in-law. The trigger was smooth as butter and with a 2.5" barrel it barked real loud. He picked up a big brother for it real cheap at a pawn shop, a S&W .41 magnum snubnose, but I never got a chance to shoot it.

Smith and Wesson 686 in .357. The thing had a really nice single action pull right out of the box. The double action isn't that bad either.
Link Posted: 2/10/2002 2:54:02 PM EST
I changed my mind. I like my new 629 more than my Model 19 now. I was always worried about the recoil, but trust me, with a two handed grip, it is great.

Nice operation, Kurt. Kewl website too! Something I always wanted to do but had kids and got old instead. I have too many favorites, but most are older Smiths. Hmmmm, [:\] A model 28 at the moment. (Highway patrolman) Back to basics.

I luv my Taurus 669 4" stainless , magna ported in 357 Mag - my favorite trail gun

Lit's see... staying with Smiths..of the Models 13, 14, 17, 18, 29, 60, 642, 49, 686, 586, 25, 19,( and I know I missed some), tonight the Model 13, three inch barrel, smooth combat grips, bobbed hammer, double action only, and quadra port gets the prize!

For looks, feel and history, I would have to say the Colt Single Action Army.

1st Generation is the best.

2nd Generation are nice too.

3rd Generation look pretty but just aren't the same.

Still...love the SAA.

You're talking to a dyed in the wool semi-auto man. I cut my teeth on a 1911 and my favorite current gun is a USP. But a friend convinced me to try his S&W 686...

Damn! that's a nice gun!
Link Posted: 4/4/2002 2:59:51 PM EST
After seeing all these large calibers, this might seem a little wimpy. I have a Ruger GP with a 4" barrel in 22lr that is a dream to shoot. After a day at work I will come home, pickup a box of shells and the Ruger and have a walk in the woods. There are a few rabbits out there that wish I didn't like that gun so much.

I like my Ruger Vaquero in 45LC but my Gary Reeder custom Blackhawk converted to .454 Casull is gonna rock. It should be done in another month or so. Can't wait!!!

That's awesome. I've never hunted with a handgun, but I guess that it's a really satisfying feeling to call the quarry to within handgun range. Great setup you've got.
