If it's in good shape then pick up the Sig. You won't be sorry. A friend of mine picked up a used 228, well barely used, at Hoffman's for $499 with night sights and 2 mags. It was a very good deal as new run around $800. Both my Sigs were bought used and they are great. I'd recommend getting the Sig.

By the way where in CT are you?

First off.... this is one pet peeve I'm just going to have to nail you for.

They are called MAGAZINES not CLIPS...

MAGAZINES...

Now that thats out of the way..

My first handgun was a Sig and I think it's a fine choice..

that's a decent price as long as the finish is in good shape and IMO if the slide doesn't rattle with it's a good buy.

Some would argue that even if the slide rattles it's still a good deal but I feel I can afford to be picky in this situation and I'll always take the gun with a tighter smooth action over one with a rattle. It may not effect accuracy but it would affect my confidence..

As long as the bore is good with no bulges and you feel confident you'll get 460$ worth of grins out of it go for it..

the P228 is regarded among some as one of the best 9mm Pistols ever produced.

Get a Sig, you will not regret it.

CDNN has a lot of Police trades right now for good prices.

One of the best places to get a Certified Pre-owned Sig is from Ordnance Outsellers. They are first class.
