So i got my custom champion springer back and the 1911 bug decided to bite again. Just no idea what i want. I would like to stick between $1300 - $1700. Must be 5" with rails, i would like night sights but its not a must have. I wany it in .45. I plan on it being mainly a range gun but might carry it in the winter. Oh and single stack. So what do you guys suggest?

look hard for a used les baer or wilson.  they can be had for less than your max.

My 4" baer was 1300 OTD

Ok, what's the deal with your TRP?  Love it but can't find one listed on SA's website that comes equipped with a full length rail like yours.  Give me all the juicy details!

24's out.

I love my TRP very much, but man those Les Baer pistols make me tingle. Some day next year.

I am by no means a 1911 expert, but from what i have gathered they are a limited run by Springfield and are very hard to come by. I have read that these are typically used by the FBI.
You can get a full rail on your Springfield, but youre going to have to go to the custom shop section for that.

other than going to the custom shop youre best bet is to go to the EE and gunbroker, but the prices on there are crazy high.
i was lucky and came across it at a LGS for practically free brand new.

How does it balance with the full length rail?  Front heavy?

it is a little, but it works out because it takes a bit off the recoil.

It is by far one of the best shooting straight out of the box guns i have shot. and make me look way better than i am

SA MC or TRP Operator.

I know Colt is THE name with 1911s, but I fucking hate the idea of it being Series 80 and stainless no matter what the color ends up to be.

dont get all hung up on the series 80 hype, the trigger on my rail gun and my trp are damn near the same. I do like the checkering on the trp but the mc operator doesnt come with it either.
