anybody have one of these?  ive only seen them on gunbroker, which has outrageous prices ($800+) for them.  anybody know where to get one a little more reasonably.  i had a 226 that was stolen in a burglary, now i want to replace it but am holding out for the new tac rail model.

BTW, im interested in the DA/SA, not that DAK crap.

Depends if it is the all stainless steel version P226st, I have seen them ~$750  to $800. If it is P226R aluminum frame versions, then they are on crack.

The nitron P226 should not be that expensive - my rule of thumb is that if you can get one for under $700, it's a decent deal.  I usually see them for around $725 or so in my area, IIRC.

I haven't found one with a rail yet - I keep hearing that they're out there, but I'm still looking.  I'm curious if they're available in .40 yet, cause I've been considering going with that caliber.

Dave,

I've seen them in .40, I just didn't have the damn cash at the time to buy it.  I will try again this weekend, with a loaded wallet.

I ordered one when they came out. My local dealer found it with no problems. I think they are easy to find now.

Its too bad you can't just buy a frame, for those of us with non-railed guns....

Check with CDNN. They quoted me $599 P229 9mm with rail and night sights. I would think the P226 would be the same.

I actually saw two P226STs today at the local store - one in 9mm and one in .40 cal.  They said limited edition, and I think were like $799 each, but I could be mistaken.

Very nice-looking, but I want a nitron pistol.  I'll be patient - don't need it right away.

I just saw a P226R Nitron for $759 couple days ago. Standard DA/SA. Since you're in TX, you should have it cheaper, by $100.

They found me my P226R BEFORE they were commercially available.  They've also have some of the best prices I've seen.
