Hi, A friend is offering to sell me his mod 29-4, it is blued and  it has a FULL LUG 8 3/8 barrel and UNFLUTED  cylinder and is in like new condition. my question is: is there any collector value or is it ok to shoot it. I have looked and can not find another one just like it on the net.  I can buy it for $450. Thanks for your time, Brian

GRAB IT.
Any time you can get a Model 29 in good condition for that low a price, you better grab it FAST.

S&W has made a number of limited production revolvers with various features like full lugs and non-fluted cylinders.

Generally speaking, most of these bring no higher prices than more standard guns.
If it's already been shot, shooting it some more will not affect the value.
