When I was doing department mag testing, I think I used 6 or 7 different makes of 1911 mags, and there was no doubt that the 47d was the best beast on the block. I don't carry a 1911 very often, but when I do, it is with the Wilson 47d series.
If you plan on using those grips, make sure you pull them off, dry it underneath, and use some carnuba car wax under the rubber area. It will prevent rust from forming if you are ever out in wet weather. The Springfield loaded is a nice 1911, but if it has that internal lock, I would get rid of it. I had 2 cause problems with the hammer strut, and that is enough to kill any confidence in them that I may have ever had. |
