Milt Sparks, Lou Alessi, Mitch Rosen, etc etc.  Most of the guys on the 1911 forum seem to prefer Milt Sparks, myself included.  My TRP rides on my hip in a Versa Max II.

I like my Galco Summer Comfort real well. I think I paid in the neighborhood of $70.00 for it. IWB.

Don't forget to get a 'real' belt for your holster.

I use a Hellweg IWB and love it. Very comfortable for all day wear.

Milt Sparks Versa-Max II...

I use one for my SW1911SC Commander and it's awesome.  On me, it conceals under a t-shirt.

What do you want it for?  What is the application?  Good grief, the number of holster types and the sheer number of holsters out there is BEWILDERING.

We have to know what you want it for: competition, concealed carry, open carry,...?

What type 1911 do you have:  full size, commander, ...?

Kramer #3 and a good belt for IWB only.
Or I like a FIST #14 which can IWB or ride the belt.
I get mine with the body protect option and 1 3/4 belt size.

The wider belt makes a big comfort difference if you carry all day.

I just bought a Sparks BN55 for a 1911 and I'm really impressed.  I have two VM-II holsters and a Summer Special for other guns and quality and comfort are top shelf. I bought the BN55 for those days when I can get away with OWB and it is exceptionally comfortable.

A friend gave me an El Paso Saddlery #88 "Street Combat" the other day, in black, and carved, for my 5" 1911.

secure.aaa-servers.com/epsaddlery.com/images/products/prodid64.jpg  It's totally not my style, I'm a plain leather kind of guy, but it's really growing on me.  It's a beautifully made holster, and El Paso Saddlery was making gunleather for real gunfighters when gunfighting wasn't cool.

Yes they do.  They can make anything if you give them a call.  My VMII was specially made justfor the Springfield Operator.  I have the very first one for that weapon.

The wait is long but well worth it!

+1

I've had a Milt VMII.  It was nice but I like my Fist #19 better.  They offer alot of their holsters in a "close cropped version" that works better for smaller frames.  My #19 is a close cropped IWB alot like a VMII and it just conceals better than anything I had tried before because it was made for scronny people like me.  Make sure you specify the body guard option for I think $5 if you don't like the slide to contact your skin.
