I bought a brand new 21. The magazine springs areSTIFF. At first I could only get 9 rounds in them. I had two times that they misfed out of 150 rounds.At the 40 rounds of the 150 I had no problems.It seems the looser the springs got the better it fed. Another factor is that I only fired hollow points. It was the only ammo I had in the house. I probably should have waited until I picked up some ball ammo. The glock could not wait (and the owner could not wait).

the springs will get better.

I just got some 10 rounders and they are really stiff. my 13s are really easy to load... 1500 rounds later.

I too have a brand new G21, havent had any feeding problems, but the springs are stiff as hell. The guys @ glocktalk mentioned a fix that involved filing .125" off of the follower feet. Unfortunately, noone had pictures of the areas to file so I havent done the fix. I have a set of snap-caps that I continually load and unload. now I dont have to use that plastic widget to load the 10th round.

I had to have my ejector replaced. It was not machined or filed properly. I posted the details under the topic "glock 21,36 feed problems". I was having problems replying under this topic . Since its been replaced I have fired 110 rounds to test it .I did not one misfeed.

The springs are brutal, mine dont seem to get any better.

I have 2 15s and 1 13. The more capacity it has, the easier it is to load. 10 rd .40 mags are a bitch.

Once you get all 10 in, let them sit for a while. I stacked about 9 rounds of .40 in my 357 mags and let them sit for several weeks.

When I was reloading them at the range, they felt a lot looser IMO.

Before you take the Glock plunge, might I suggest a Springfield Armory XD-9?

I also experienced this untill I heard about the Glock Stomp. After 7 rounds are loaded rap the bottom of the mag with some enthusiasm and after each round till you get 10 in. This will allow the cartridges to settle in place. Also, leave the mags loaded for a while, this will also help. I have shot IPSC and IDPA with the G21 and I will tell you, when under stress, the mag changes are more reliable with 9 rounds in the mag. Ever pull the trigger and watch your mag fall out of the gun? Great fun for all your buddies!

What non-LEO can get a hi-cap for an XD?

Glock 21 and three hi-caps. Without them, who would need a bulky gun with only 10 rounds?
