Has anyone seen a conversion kit that will let me convert my SW9VE from 9mm to .40cal.

1. is it even possible to convert up. I know someone that goes from .40 to 9mm.

2. is the price justified or should i just get a SW40VE, cause I really like my SW9VE's feel and would like to shoot .40 from that frame.

2a. Is the 9mm and .40 cal frame the same except for the barrel. If so can i just switch out barrels.

2b. If I can just switch out barrels, do I need to get another recoil spring, or will the one for the 9mm work fine.

3. Thanks in advance.

There are several differences which make this conversion problematic.

1-You cannot use mags of the opposite caliber in the frames. They made the magwell dimensions different, so a 9mm mag can't be inserted in a .40 frame, or the other way around.

2-The slide will be different, not just the barrel. The diameter of the head of the shell is larger on the .40, so a 9mm slide would not even allow the .40's shell to fit into the groove in the slide, and the extractor will not grab it. And, if you tried to use 9mm in a .40 slide, you will probably have extraction problems due to the extractor not grabbing the smaller head diameter of the 9mm.

For the cost of another Sigma (less than $300 normally), just buy one in the other caliber.
