Just got a compact 45 , its a commander size with a shorter grips.I compared it to my colt  combat commander, I don see to much talk on this size gun only the full and micro. Any info would be appreciated. thanks.

Hang on to it. Springfield stopped making them last year. I managed to get one out of the last batch, as a replacement for an ultra they couldn't get to run right under warranty. The light frame makes for snappy recoil, but they're comfortable as hell for daily carry.

Mine shoots very well. I'm a leftie, so I appreciate the ambi safety, and the tritium sights are a really nice touch.

mine is all steel and dose not have ambi  thumb safty which I want to put on.
