i found out with 7 rounds in this mag it works alot better, thinking with wilsons "quality" it would slide in the same with 8 rounds.. i find myself having to slap it in

Possibly it's just me, but i have had no ill luck with any of my 47D's.  I jam them full up every time.  Hopefully they will break in for you.  If they do not, I would give Wilson's a call.

I have the same problem, plus one other. In one of my 1911s (S&W 1911) all 6 of my Wilsons mags, when 8 rounds are loaded and inserted in this gun, will compress the spring completely and cause the follower to jam, until mag is taped. It has caused problems when loading that first round (in 8+1 mode). The upside to this, I think, is that the slide to next round relationship puts that next round higher up for the slide to strip.
