Try spray-on aerosol Gun Kote from Brownell's. You heat the gun parts, spray them, then cook them for an hour.

In the future, if you put a gun in a foam case, or store it there for any length of time, put it in one of kleenbore's Inhibitor VCI ziploc bags first, squeezing all the air out of the bag before closing it. You can fold the bag over and the gun in the bag should fit in the case. Just make sure you don't put it away wet or in a very high humidity environment, and at least have a little protective oil on the metal gun parts.
