HK VP9sk or S&W M&P 2.0 4" compact.
Either one is fine with me. |

CZ P01 is the closest thing to being as perfect as the G19 to me.
Absolutely excellent pistol. Only have one, want a few more. |

I took this to first mean of the other non glock guns I already have. So I'd choose my HK P2000 (9mm). And if it could be ANY pistol, Hmmm - decision might be on whether I would need to conceal carry it. I think I'd still pick the P2000 as I know it so well and ti is easily concealable- but I'd look hard at the SIG P229 and P226 too. CZ's would not be a bad choice either

Quoted: Easy question here that we've all been asked, but maybe a little different. What handgun would you have if you could only have one, and it couldn't be a Glock? View Quote |

I would have a smith and wesson M&P and thats even if I COULD have a glock which I do. I hate the grip angle. cant get M&P in CA

I've actually had to have this existence for a bit, and I already own that 1 handgun that I can do everything I want with.
It's not on the poll list, though Lightly touched Colt Delta Elite. If I couldn't have a single stack 10mm 1911, my next choice would probably be a USP 9mm, because like the Colt, I've used that gun as my one and only before as well. If I have to stay on the poll's list, I'll take a Beretta 92 LTT Centurion. |

HK, either USP9C or any one of the other compacts. Your poll is dumb. What kind of classless knuckle-dragger would ever pick Ruger?
Or Walther, to be completely honest, as they have had some serious problems in the past several years, particularly with metallurgy. |

View Quote Well, I don't have a Glock, and I can live with my Hi Powers (I also have Stars). I like them quite a bit, actually, although I really want 1911s and CZs as well. For over a decade, the only handguns I ever owned other than cap and ball stuff and, briefly, a Colt M1908 Vest Pocket (never got it back after a defensive shooting; only had it for a few months), were Hi Powers, and for years I had just the one. If I had to pick from what I have, a Hi Power for sure. If I could pick whatever else I wanted, I'd likely go for some sort of 1911, maybe with an alloy frame, customized to my preferences. If I could only have something from your poll, I suppose it'd be a CZ, probably a CZ-75 (maybe a Rhodesian Pre-B). I honestly have no desire for a Glock, so the premise of the thread doesn't exactly pain me. |

Or Walther, to be completely honest, as they have had some serious problems in the past several years, particularly with metallurgy. View Quote Well, the poll only allows for so many. As for Walther, the PPQ is as good as the VP9 and it comes in 45. Walther actually builds a single stack PPS. HK doesn’t build a single stack. HK doesn’t even come close to building a gun on par with the PPQ Q4 Match Steel Frame Pro. Walther also builds .22 in several variations.I put Ruger for anyone who might want a 1911, Revolver or one of the best .22’s ever made. Those 3 are something HK doesn’t offer, so I’m not sure they are superior at anything other than plastic fantastic which there are plenty of on the list. I’ve owned 4 HK’s (USP’s, P2000,VP9)and find them vastly overrated. They aren’t the best on capacity, weight, price, accuracy, or aftermarket support. The VP9 is thought of as their corner cutting model, which I can attest it is not on par with others they have built. VP9 has the dumb trigger trough that nobody else uses and and irritates most peoples finger over time. It has the cheapest looking slide stops that don’t even match on both sides, texture of the VP9 isn’t on par with the P30, P30’s trigger is terrible and bore axis is silly, USP is a dinosaur these days and has plenty of shortcomings and the P2000 is overpriced with a crap trigger also.HK’s generally has too many parts and difficulty detail stripping than other guns also. What’s so superior about them again? |

Same as if you included Glock. A steyr L9, you know the correct Austrian handgun A2 Attached File

Beretta is the correct answer in general. 92 family specifically.

For full disclosure, I carry a Gen2 Glock17...
If not, probably a Walther PPQM1 (or M2)... Close seconds would include... Beretta APX Steyr M9-A1 FN 509 Sarsilmaz SAR-9 CZ P-09 CZ-P-10C And there are others slightly lower on the list. Forrest |

I can't believe I'm saying this, but probably a well tuned 1911
They are heavy but easy to carry, for the nightstand I don't feel undergunned with 10rd mags, and I shoot them well. |
|
I really like my S&W M&Ps. Haven’t shot any other guns enough to say. I’d miss my Glocks, but the Smith’s aren’t bad.
|
|
About any DA/SA S&W 3rd Gen ... maybe just the 40 or 9mm models if capacity and/or ammo selection/availability are factors of concern.
|
|
Beretta APX Centurion is a phenomenal weapon. Seriously, that good.
|
|
P320. The Sig 320 aftermarket support is almost as good as Glock now.

There are other pistols besides Glock?....learn something new every day I guess
