LOve my gen 3 G 19 for carry, also have a gen 3 G 26 for carry. My question is would you buy another G19 or a different caliber?
Unless you just specifically want an identical backup for your primary carry piece (nothing at all wrong with that, BTW, I have more than one myself), since you have a 26 and a 19 I would go bigger and stay with 9mm (same ammo and mags) unless you specifically want a different chambering.
Personally, I would skip the 17 and go straight to the 34... my favorite Glock for anything except CCW. If you want a different caliber, a 21 in .45ACP is also a great choice. JMHO. |

I had 6 G19's. Sold 2 for G17's. I plan on selling 2 more for 2 more G17's.

I carry a G19 daily, have a couple of identical back-ups (not carried as BUGs, but a "back up" in case my primary needs work/repair), and one that wears a AA rimfire conversion full-time (cheap, quite practice). I have even more G17s, and they are my dedicated vehicle guns with one in each all the time (we have six vehicles and I rotate frequently ), a few in quick-access handgun safes mounted throughout the house, plus a couple of dedicated rimfires. FTR, if I were starting over from scratch those would all be G34s instead of G17s... but I already had several before I fell in love with the 34. Then I have a G26, G17L, and a couple of G34s, plus three G21s just because. You could say I am a fan. |
I'd buy a 2nd gen 19.
But if you don't have one, get a 17, best Glock ever. |

Another G19 will give you the famous(?) NewYork back-up!Then you can purchase the G17,and G34,
glak |

Proud original owner of a Gen 2 19, came with 2x 10 rounder mags :-(. Liked the 19 so much, I recently purchased a Gen 3 19. Super pieces. Can't go wrong. Magazines are no longer an issue :-)

I intended to but have been waffling between a G19 and a G17. Now I should spend the money on my wife's birthday present.
The moral of the story: get both. Now. |
I have three Gen 3 Glock 19's and all three play different roles. I have one designated for CCW, one for home defense with a threaded barrel and supressor, and one for SHTF gear loadout. Anyone of these can be used for home defense. These are the only Glocks/pistols I own but I don't see myself with a different pistol or caliber.
I've also owned other pistols but sold them all and came down with the Gen 3 Glock 19. |
I want a 2nd one, maybe in fde if I can get one at a good price.
I feel like I should maybe get a 23 too, so I can shoot .40 and 9 with a conversion barrel. Also I want a 17, and a 21, and a 26, and a 30. Well fuck |
I really want a gen 2 G19. I already have a gen 3, but prefer gen2 for carry.

View Quote Since my philosophy is to have 10 mags for each pistol, I tend to go down in pistol class. 19 mags fit a 26, 21 mags fit a 30 and so forth...since I have 2 Glock 19's, my next will be a 26. The downside is finding 26 mags, but my 19's will work as an emergency back up. I would like to have a 17 but do not want to start collecting a new set of mags. In addition with today's ammo craze, I am not taking on new ammo classes...but then again, I have all three pistol caliber s are covered, would like new rifle caliber but that is not happening...if I do, it will be .243 or .270, as these are the caliber s that all of the stores seem to have on the shelf. 77 |

I'm planning on buying a second G19 this year for a girl I'm dating. I never much liked the 19, but girls sure seem to like it.
I love the 17. |
If I got a good deal, sure. I never liked the 3rd gen compact sized frame, though, so if nothing else, I'd sell it and get another 4th gen
i say yes! The G19 is my EDC so I currently have three Gen3 G19's and I am planning to purchase a Gen2 as well...

If I could find another at a decent price I would buy another one or two

i personally would. i dont dont have G19s, but i do have 3 glocks of the same model, and plan on getting 2 more as time passes.
if its your main workhorst and go-to pistol, then definitely get enough... "until you have enough". |
I currently have 21 Glocks, but only 1 19. I really "need" a spare, though I have a few 23s and a 26 that can backfill if necessary.
I have 2 19s 2 17s 34 and 17L. I shoot the 19a the most. But the 17s are my favorites.

Agree on 17 or 34, then if you still want a second 19 grab it later.
I carry a 19. When my wife decided to learn out of all the guns she tested, she preferred the 19. We bought 19 #2. My 14 year old son loves the 19 so 19 #3 is a foregone conclusion.
I carry a Gen4 19. Love it. It fits me perfect personally and I trust my/my family's life with it day to day. Got a good deal on a HK USP40c. As hard as I tried I just couldnt love it. So I traded it for another LNIB Gen4 G19. Ended up trading that for a NIB Gen3 G17. Since I had thousands of rounds on my carry gun I wanted to distribute the workload to another gun for practice. While I like the 17, the Gen4 19 will always be my favorite go-to pistol. For me, it just plain works.
If that's your preference I'd say yes. I prefer the G17 and currently have 4 of them and my next one will be a G17 gen4 FDE.

I have 2 19s and a 26.
I may very well buy a 34 next or a gen4 23 to go with my 27, or a 21 to go with my 30... |

Hell OP, if you want another 19, get one. Perhaps make one your dedicated nightstand/truck gun and the other your dedicated EDC.
It's just a personal preference, but I can't bring myself to buy two of the same thing. Why spend the money on something I already have, when I can put the money towards something else and have a little variety. So, if it were me, I'd probably go the route of a 17 or 34. Or, if you like the size, get a 23 in 40SW or a 32 in .357Sig. G30's are also similar in size to the 19. Everyone needs at least one .45 in their collection. Plus, most 19 holsters will fit a 19. Or just do what I'd do and get a G20 or G29 in 10mm. |

Quoted: What can a model 34 do better than a 19 or a 17 View Quote Longer sight radius, better sights, trigger, and controls right out of the box. (Any/all of which can be addressed on other models by aftermarket accessories/work, of course, if you want to go that route.) I shoot the 34 noticeably better than the 17, personally, but others in this thread report the opposite so YMMV. IMHO, you owe it to yourself to try them both in your hands, side by side if possible. |

Glocks are so reliable that you can get by just fine without a spare of your primary carry gun, but It's so nice having a selection of Glocks that there is no need to rationalize getting another one. How about getting one and tricking it out? |

Yes...two G19s here...only pistol that I have an exact duplicate
