Steel full size frame with a 4.2 or 4.25" barrel? Debating if I should buy or look at having one built. Pics are always appreciated.

So are you asking who makes a Colt commander?

Dan Wesson has their VBob
Les Baer has a commander

What is your price range?

Sounds like he specifically wants a real commander (4.25" with a bushing,) not one of the 4" bull barrel jobs. One of those STI guns did look more or less traditional though.

I can think of:

Dan Wesson,
Colt,
Fusion,
The new Ruger (I think)

They may be bull barrels, but they measure 4.25 or a little over.

The bull barrels shouldn't be a problem. I would get rid of the recoil master, because hose things are crap. I don't mean to come off as a fan boy. I'm just happy to see sti start to phase out the ugly ass roll marks.
