The 43 is a great little gun... it's even smaller than the Shield.
Blue Label pricing on the 43 is pretty dang good as well... you might be suprised. |

Outside of G43, the only one I could rec would be G26 because of mag compatibility. If you
are use to carrying G17, then the G26 is significantly smaller than G17 but will accept G17 mags (G26). Add: G26 accepts G19, G17 and G18 mags (15rd, 17rd and 33rd mags) |

I just went through this..... got a 42 because I had 8 rounds of 380 sitting around idle..... I will probably get a 43 in the future, but I have found the 42 to be an awesome summertime pocket gun..... (43 still fits the pocket role nicely in jeans, but is a tad weird
in short pants). I have never been a fan of the 26/27/30 because the grips feel weird being wide and short.... the 42/43 & 36 have the thinness of a proper single stack without the horrible Kahr trigger of my cw45. Blue label OTD for the 42 was $335, about $50 more for the 43. Also, stock sights are typical glock plastic junk.... of course

Just get the Glock 19 and 43 and never look back.

both the 42 and 43 are great guns. I like the Pearce +1 mag base plates. ETS makes flush 7 rounders and extended 9 and 12 rounders for both the 42 and 43
I think the 42 is easier to conceal |

Attached FileI have both and each one has Talon Grips and Pearce + 1 extensions. The grips and magazine extensions really help my grip. I can shoot both very well. I love how the G42 fits my hand. With the proper ammo the .380 might be one for you to consider. I prefer to pocket carry and the .380 with a DeSantis holster works great. I can pocket carry the G43 in jeans, but it's a little tight. |

I have both a G42 and G43, and are carried in a Recluse cargo holster in nylon fishing shorts... with the Taran Tactical +2 the G43 is my current carry pistol... in regards to crap Glock sights, my G34 and G17 used for competition have aftermarket sights... both the G42 and G43 shoot point of aim at 20yd with the factory sights moved right for windage and have not been changed... if you are looking at pocket carry, thin is better

I really like my 26 mainly because it's small enough and preserves all your options.
Double stack goodness- can take a 10 round mag, 15 round mag, 17 round mag or 33 round problem solver. Figure you start with the 10 because it's flush but throw some 17's in your pocket fannie pack or murse. Parts interchangeability is yuge. |

I'm not a big fan of their new single stacks personally, just doesn't have the same legendary reliability of the double stack Glock's. The Glock 19 is king no doubt for conceal carry. But the Glock 26 is the smallest I'd go in the Glock lineup. The Glock 29 and Glock 30 are the same size and are a bit thicker than the 9mm Glock's, but it's kind of between the 26 and 19 in terms of overall size. Love the 10mm caliber, and 45acp is great also. I'd probably either grab the Glock 19 or 29 personally.

I find that a J-Frame carries a lot better in the pocket, and if I'm going to carry a handgun IWB, I would rather have a G26/19 than the single stack G43. It's too big for a pocket gun and too small for a IWB gun honestly... Not saying it's not a great handgun, but it does fall in a strange size category. |

The Glock 42 has very little recoil. I'd say it has about the same recoil or less than a Glock 17. The Glock 43 is slightly larger, and fairly snappy. It reminds me of shooting a Glock 22, but has the advantage of better ammo and ammo commonality with your carry gun (assuming it is 9mm).
ETA: I traded my J-frame for a G42 because I shot the damned thing two feet low at 7 yards. I can shoot the Glock 42 twice as fast and four times as accurately. It was a no brainer for me. |
