I'm looking to get some Bear ammo online.  What websites are you all using?

Aim Surplus and The ammunition Store sells it.

I've never used Brown Bear before.  I'm just looking for something to use at the range that will have better accuracy than Wolf without causing me to go broke.

Anyone have any positive/negative experiences with Brown Bear?

I shoot the hell out of it..Brown bear, Silver bear, Golden bear..All made by Barnaul and very accurate..I don't ever buy it online because I can get it locally for $6.99 for 50 rounds, so I'm no help with the where to order question??

What kind of metal does Brown Bear ammo use for their jackets? I don't believe it is copper because the box says "Bi-Metal". It looks like copper though? Does it caues more wear to the barrel?

It's going for $4.95 for FMJs and $5.19 for HPs (boxes of 50) on www.ammunitionstore.com.  But I guess it is always best to support the local gun shops if possible.

From what I understand is that the bi-metal uses a " specially developed low carbon elastic steel" in their bi-metal jackets coated or washed with copper...So it's not supposed to be any harder on the barrel than copper..

Damn that is a good price but by the time I paid shipping I would probably about even..
And it's a good excuse to browse the isle's...

My groups using Wolf are almost immeasureable they are so bad.  In 5.56 I love Wolf but 9x18 does not work for me for anything other than seeing how fast I can dump 10 rounds and reload another 10.

I'm no expert but the difference between my groups with barnaul HP and Wolf FMJ were the Barnaul seemed to go to POA with manageable recoil..

the Wolf just seemed to recoil more and stray more..

Might be more recoil revealing my Novice and probably incorrect grip but I get the feeling there's more to it than that.

I plan to buy 1K of one of the bears after I run out of this 500 of Wolf FMJ.
