Why is the frame pealing? Has anyone else had this problem?

Is this all over or just a couple places. It looks like normal wear to me.

Molting,  It will be just slightly larger once all that skin peels off.

Hit it with a lighter flame for a sec.

I've never seen wear like that.  What kind of cleaners have you used on it?  I would seriously consider sending it back to Glock.

I've never seen that on a Glock frame either.  Empirical observation would indicate it's some sort of "film", of something, that is peeling off.  Not sure what it could be though.

Its very strange, its only on those two spots there. I bought it new and its not been painted or anything. The only thing i have dont to it was ground some of the polymer away under the trigger where it was rubbing my finger so i dont know if glock would still warranty it.  Ihavent really shot it much either so i dont think it was anything that i cleaned it with, and when i did clean it, it was only with what was in my kit and i dont recall using anything on the fram at all.

Hmm. I would try the lighter method... not sure why a layer of filament or whatever it is would come up like that.

i thought part of the reason to get a plastic gun was to avoid crap like this

yeah get a 1911, then you'll have to put another $1000 or so into just to make it even

close to the glock's reliability,  good try though.

well, 3 glocks here and none have had that issue.

after 5 years of 2 ipsc matches a week, I have my frame rails break.  I had altered the grip and glock replaced it no questions asked.

And no, the loads were hot.  I am sure they would do the same for you.

It must be a 9mm shedding it's skin so it can grow into a .40 or it's a .40 growing into a .45.
