Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - What's the word on those hi-cap Springfield 1911 mags?

Are they reliable?  I thought 13 rounds was odd since Paras have 14, but I was told that Kimber recently went to a 13 round mag as well; something about a longer/stronger follower?

I am thinking about building off a wide body frame, but I would like to know more about hi-cap magazines, these new ones in particular.

13 or 14 rds won't make much difference for comparasion as the length on one may be different than the other mag from mfgr to mfgr. H&K, for example, uses a 12 rd mag on their hi-cap .45acp USP.

Hopefully, if you get shitty mags, you can swap over to Mec-Gar replacements?
