I'm not really seeing the point.  Are people breaking their slides and need to get a new one?

No, but people who are building 80% Glock lowers need slides. Or someone who wants the plain jane look. Or someone who wants to maintain their factory upper, but also one to get one sent out for slide milling or refinishing

I'm going to give a G34 slide a whack when they become available. I'm no expert, but I doubt these slides are as durable as the Tennifer treated carbon steel factory slides, but 416 is widely used for slides and barrels across the firearms industry, so they should be ok.

Thanks, guys.  I'm looking for opinions.  The price seems very reasonable.  I came in to a few stripped lowers which is why I'm asking.  I have been hitting the EE for factory slides, but saw these as well and any info on them is greatly appreciated.

I just looked and the G19 SS slides are back-ordered until May 21st. 2017. Must be pretty good sellers for them.

I have the G19 AlphaWolf. Machining is pretty nice, though there's some faint machining marks on the top of the slide. You can see them but not feel them. Other than that, besides the lack of markings, if it had a black finish I don't know that I couldn't tell it wasn't factory.

I will say the striker channel liner was pretty damn tight, but I guess that's a good thing. Broke one on install, but then I don't have the special installation tool. Everything else installed fine. Haven't shot it yet, but I don't foresee any problems.

I have one on my poly 80 G17,  its bare though,  meaning no serrations and its bare stainless,  to get it coated and the serrations added I could buy a factory Glock slide. after total cost.

so I decided its just a range toy,  I am going to run it plane,  its stainless, so it should be fine.  It functions just fine as well.

Glock needs to get real with complete slide pricing.  Heck, you can buy brand new FN-S slides with barrel, RSA, and steel night sights for $219.99.  FN's have more machining done to them too with front and rear serrations and much nicer engraving than Glock's.  Kind of sad how inflated complete slide prices have gotten for the Austrian wonder gun.

Very true. They seem to be averaging $350 to $450 and higher on eBay, depending on what they are. I have a couple of Glock project pistols I built from parts, just for the fun of it, and I could have bought a brand new Glock, with all matching serial numbers, and magazines for less. But then I would not have had the experience of putting it all together from scratch, which is something I've never done before. Yes, it was fun building the project, but certainly not economical (unless you include the value of the experiential learning curve). :-)

Yeah, but then you have an FN, and nobody wants those.

From what I've read, Glock replacement slides are $225, but I don't know if they sell them outside of "replacement".

very true, I have a gen 4 that will have nothing matching,  stripped upper 180,  barrel 55,  I sent it to Glock for night sights and to have the upper completed,  61.00 plus 11.00, the frame was 110 off GB stripped so another 60 in parts to finish that.   had I had to buy all the parts to complete the upper I would have more in it than one complete used/ like new G4 G19. but as you said I did get to learn how to put it all together and it was enjoying,  plus I got to spread the spending out as I had the money.

my G19 will have all kinds on numbers on it,  a modern day mosin......

Sounds like you have the gunsmith ready model. The AW I have does have rear serrations at least. It's the oem profile model.

OK, I'll get the install tool for the channel liner.  They don't seem too expensive.  Again, thank you all for the info.

When you do shoot it, and you have a chance, let us know how it went.

you can use a bic pen,  the white one that is round to shove the channel liner in the slide,  you do not need a special tool,  I used it on mine,  shoved it in till it stopped by hand then I gave it a light tap with a hammer.  take the ink part out of the pen and use it.

I'll second this. I hadn't needed a channel liner tool before but after trashing mine in the really tight channel I ordered the tool.

I run one of their 34 slides as my 3 gun piece. I like it. It's held up well over the last 3 years. I like that the front is radiused with serrations. Quality wise, I can't see any disadvantages over oem. I haven't tried the Alpha Wolf version yet. Inmaybget one for a 19 build.

So I put 150rds through it no problems. I'll wait until I have about 1000 or so until I'd trust it, but again, don't foresee any issues.

Here's mine with my shameless copy of the sidecar/wingman appendix style holster I made for my BIL

Ive had a LW 19 frame for years. No complaints.

I am bummed to see that they are no longer going to be offering the slide with front serrations and bevel
