I currently have 2 Kimbers. However, I regret selling my 2 Colts. I have learned the hard way never sell a gun, especially a 1911. I will always carry a Kimber, but there is just something about a Colt.

A Springfield, two Para-Ordnance high caps, a Remington-Rand, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Three SA's for me, two full size and one ultra compact...I'm looking toward another full size in the near future, I'm thinking along the lines of a black stainless or maybe an operator...

Other: self manufactured with parts from the internet.

Colt and SA. Favorite by far is the Springfield Armory. The Commander is nice but has nasty sharp edges.

Kimber and Colt.

Ponies and Yonkers can get along in the same collection.

30 yrs ago it was just COLT!

Well, I currently have 4 of the 5 in your poll. Would have bought a GSR, but the one I looked at was way too poorly put together for a $950 gun, so I bought a Kimber Team Match II that day, instead.

As far as custom 1911's, I have a couple of those, too. None are stock items from the major builders; all are custom to my specs from top local guys.

Colt, Kimber, & Dan Wesson

Right now I only have two 1911 style pistols......(1) Colt Government model SXE in Stainless and (1) Kimber Royal II Blued.

Uhhh.... Where's the NORINCO choice? The most reliable 1911 of recent times.

Why no Para Ordance?
Link Posted: 8/18/2004 2:39:07 PM EDT
Colt 1911 made in 1918 or 1917 not sure. A ORM 1991 Gov, and a NRM 1991 Commander.

And a Python that was my dad's and a 1908 in .380

they're just "clunky"

if i get another .45 it'll be a single stack, which is ironic because i paid a lot for my hicap mags during the ban.

(2) Springfields (1) Kimber.................I see another Kimber in the near future.......and maybe a Para LTC

Colt, only because I got one HELL of a deal on a 1943-manufactured ex-GI 1911a1

Otherwise I probably would have just saved up and either a) built one myself or b) bought a kimber
Link Posted: 8/20/2004 5:12:22 AM EDT
two springfields, milspec & lt.wt. loaded {carry gun} nm # milspec shoots better than any colt i have owned. been into 1911's since 1976.
