Hey all,

I was just wondering what is that on the end of the pistol? What is it called, and what is the point of it? I've seen similar things in movies and such, I'm curious...

Thanks,
Alex

Isn't that the pistol they used in HEAT?

It could be, but this is a screen shot of 24 season 5. I'm watching it right now :)

i'd call it a "prop", since almost all modern semi auto pistols use a delayed blowback method that shifts the barrel(generally back and up) a muzzle device attached to the frame itself is unworkable. Now if it had a fixed barrel, i'd call it a nice solid place to mount the front sight and a weight to counter muzzle flip, but like i said, i think it's a prop.

It's called a "Dumb F--K with his finger on the trigger" gun.

Looks sorta SIGgy/1911ish with a turd "attached" sorta like a comp. Looks like it's attached to the frame tho with set screws, and I'd imagine it's a way to get it to function in a realistic manner.

Looks like hell tho.

It's a retarded scene from a show/movie where a (bad guy no doubt) runs around carrying a comped race gun.

Who's got the screen shot of Jack pointing the jammed Glock at the chicks head?

Haha, that is on the season I'm watching (5). I read your post, was wondering what season it was and then I see his jammed Glock this morning while watching it.

Looks like a failure to go into battery (cartridge fails to completely chamber, slide doesn't completely close)

It looked like a failure to extract to me and it tried feeding another round into the back of the spent case.

There is a 'strike plate' like that manufactured to retrofit onto 1911 frames. it is made of aluminum. It provides a place to attach a weapon light, and protects the 1911 from being pushed out of battery when you stick it in the face of a ballsy BG and he pushes it away.

You can then blow his hand off.
