A friend and I were talking today about our favorite pistols and I was surprised about the guns at the top of his list.  He has some hi dollar pistols and almost all of his favorite had nothing to do with money.  It made me go and shoot something new and I loved it.  I would like to here what your top 3-5 handguns are.

Favorites that go shooting most of the time:
5" 1911 that my wife gave me(and I shoot it so well).
Ruger MkII target that I bought from a friend that is not around anymore.
Ruger P95 That I bought with my dads help when I was 16 with my first big paycheck.

My Five Seven, USP40c stainless, G22, and the Sig P226 Navy that I picked up this week pretty much cover it. I do need a Desert Eagle .44mag to round out my "dream team". I also really like the Kimber Desert Warrior.

The far right look like 1911s and then glocks.  That looks to be the most popular two.  There are also a lot of rugers.  I thought I would be one of the only people to have a ruger in the top five.  I have been thinking about a Sig latelymaybe in 9mm and I want a rail.  What do you Sig lovers think.  I don't care about CCW issues.

Starting big & going down in size, M29 44Mag, Browning HiPower, PPK/S & Browning Buckmark.  These get shot the most so I guess theyre the ones I like the most.

I have a P226 (9mm) and it is absolutely flawless... it just doesn't fit my smallish hands as well as my Glocks do and, accordingly, I don't shoot it quite as well.  I wouldn't hesitate to get another SIG, however, especially a railed one.  In fact, a .45ACP P220R (fits my hand much better than the P226) is very high on my short list of pistols still to get.

I like every one of the handguns I own! I am NOT trying to be a smart ass here.
I have bought and owned many different guns in my fourty-some years of shooting and have now gotten rid of every  firearm that "doesn't  float my boat".
I have many different handguns, rifles and one shotgun. I like eveyone of them and enjoy shooting them all. Sig, BHP, S&W, Walther,
Ruger, Springfield Armory and so on. When I go shooting , I take different ones each time and enjoy each and everyone of them.

1) Kimber Stainless Classic Series I
2) Glock 17 (2nd Gen)

Those are the only handguns I have ever really desired. I have had Sigs, HKs, other 1911s come and go but these two I feel are the only two worth mentioning.

Probably my favorite pistol to shoot is my CZ75b, followed by my G17 and Beretta M9. I love to shoot a few full power .357 magnums out of my S&W 686p 4". The blast and recoil is cool at an inside range.

I like hammer fired pistols w frame mounted manual safeties: 1911, BHP, CZ75, USP, FNP.

Sigs and 1911's though I esp. love Sigs they are a good combination of reliabilty, accuracy and aesthetic looks.

When it comes to semiautos, I like SIGs better than anything else I've shot.
When it comes to revolvers, I have an unnatural affection for my Webley MK II.

1. Quality 1911 - assuming defence is the priority, Commander size if you have a CCW
2. Glock 34  - assuming you ever want to shoot IDPA or 3 Gun
3. HK USP DA/SA (or Sig etc etc) - assuming you  have kids and worry about their curiosity

4&5 I'd reserve for guns you just "like" - so I'm partial to P38s

Best however is to own a lot, keep a few, and keep trading the rest....

In order
1. CZ75B
2. Colt Series 70 1911
3. S&W Mod 19
4. S&W Mod 18
5. S&W mod 29

I also own SIG, Glock, HK other 1911s and S&Ws but the above are what I like best.

My favorite of all my handguns:  Kimber Custom II

2nd favorite:  SA XD9 Service

3rd favorite:  P229 9mm (no pic, digital camera broken)

I don't know where my XD 45ACP stands since I haven't even ran a single round through it yet.  It won't take the place of my Kimber Custom II.  I've had the most range time with the Kimber.  My skill set with it cannot be subject to defeat by any of my other handguns.

1.) S&W 629-4 4"  The first big-bore handgun I ever bought and the first S&W I ever did an action job on.  I love it.

2.) HK USP .45 Tactical.  For whatever reason, I can hit better and more reliably with this than any other handgun I own.  It was used but didn't look it and came with an HK light as well as two additional mags and a thread protector for a couple hundred dollars under retail.  Shoots good and I feel pretty damn clever when I say how much it cost.  A hard to beat combo.

3.) CZ97B .45.  Not as good a shot as the HK, but absolutely the most comfortable handgun I've ever held in my hand.  Like it was made from a mold of my hand.

4.) Springfield Mil-Spec .45.  Reliable as a freaking hammer.  Never ever had a feeding or firing problem.

1) Browning HI Power 9mm that I bought in 1974(it was 20 years old then). Has never failed me, unlike many other handguns Ive tried over 30years...

2) MAB P-15 9mm, probably the heaviest duty all steel handgun Ive ever had. It's probably built better than the Browning, but is fairly heavy.

I see a lot of Sigs in the top of peoples lists.  Maybe I should try one of them from CDNN.  They have some 226s in like new condition for $400.00.
