What is the newest generation / improvements have we missed out on in the last 10 years, if any?

We all know about "drop free" vs. FML mags, but what beyond that if anything? I want the most current/ best performing mags in my carry gun now that I can buy whatever i want again.

To bad I'm sitting on a drawer full of older style, overpaid for mags...............oh well. The price we pay to see the end of the stupid AWB. I just wish i'd gambled and thinned out my preban surplus.
