Agreed. I have trade in a gen 2 19 from aim that I'm loving.

Pretty cool. $350 feels steep though for a beat up police trade.

Shipping and transfer fee puts this at $380 for me.  I'd like to have one but that is a little more than I'd want to pay.  Cool gun though.

If it was a 3rd or 4th gen I'd have ordered one, but no light rail is a no-go for me.

No point when I already have full size and compact guns with rails and lights that get the job done.

Pisses me off as I just did this exact same project last weekend and now they show up for less than I paid for my Gen 2 G17 although mine did come with three factory 17rd mags.

Common mod.

I've done several, the 17kurtz is a great package.

I would rather have the full grip with a shorter slide.

FNS-9 sounds like your perfect gun then.  Exact 19 length slide and basically a 17 length grip with 17rd mags

I've dreamed of a glock commander for a long time (17 frame with a 19 slide)

Why? Serious question. Shorter grip=easier to conceal. Shorter barrel and sight radius=no advantage.

If you like the longer grip why not just use the extra half inch of barrel/slide?

It irks me to this day that glock slides/frames are not interchangeable.

How fun would it be to just mix and match every morning?

17L slide on a 26 frame?

26 slide on a 17 frame?

Guns for every occasion.

Why does colt make a comander? I own both a 17 and 19 i like the full grip of the 17 and dont think its hard to hide add a compact slide seems like perfection

I've always wondered why full length slides with short grips aren't more common. Shoot ability of a full size, with the conceal ability of a compact. Best of both worlds. Only adds a little bit of weight.

Yes, but iphone spell check got me.

I've done 2 gen4's and a gen3

Yup the one Glock I really want. We will never see it though. So I have high hopes for the CZ P-10.

Thats the worst of both worlds.

I have a 19L and its my most used pistol, for good reason.

How so?

Concealing a 17 is no more of a hassle than a 19.

I carry my 17 more than the 19's. A commander Glock would be awesome.

It is mainly theoretical.  Longer slide produces more velocity and increased accuracy.  Longer grip frame is technically harder to conceal.  YMMV

Commander GLOCK makes no sense. Kinda the same reason I stopped buying 4 and 4.5 inch 1911's. I'd rather have a longer slide and a shorter grip.

I carry a GLOCK 19 Gen4 with a Surefire X300U and a GLOCK 17 magazine in it so conceal carrying a 17 Vs. 19 is really no different in my opinion. Even going down to the 19's 15 round magazine makes no noticeable difference to me so and it's easy to hide a inch or two more downwards than a longer grip.

Just can't see the point so a shorter slide and longer grip!

I kinda want to chop my 17 to look like these GLOCK's AIM is selling.

Picked mine up the other day, nice shape, not a ton of wear, night sights are dead. I can't find out anything about the KU prefix on the sn.

Received mine also.  Mostly holster wear and some gouges on the grip.  Decided to try stippling.

FYI I was able to sell my dead night sights on the EE for $20.  Then I sent my bare detail stripped slide to Glock with a check for $20.80 and got it back with steel Glock sights and all new internals.  Winning

Police guns seem to take a beating at the end of the grip. Some also get cracks there.
AIM probably got a batch of trade in guns that looked too crappy and the bottom of the grip. I think this is a good way to "fix" an ugly frame.

I bet you're right.

They had a shipment of Gen 2 G17s over the summer, and as they got towards the end they knocked a few bucks off the price and changed the wording of the ad as all they had remaining was ones with "chipped grips".

Maybe when those didn't sell they took a dremel to them and upped the price
