I have the .40 P99. Is it possible to convert it to 9mm using an aftermarket barrel like Bar Sto? I've read that the .40 slide is longer and heavier than the 9mm. If the 9mm aftermarket barrel is long enough, and I get some 9mm mags, would it work? Anything else I would need to do?

Thanks

The lower, the recoil system and everything else are the same. The slide is heavier on the .40 than the 9mm so you need the slide, barrel, and magazine.

Talked to Bar Sto and they make a 9mm barrel for the .40 slide. It's a little longer than the standard 9mm. Said it would not be a problem using it. I should get it in about 4 to 6 weeks, so I will see how it does then.

What about the exstractor and the ejector wouldn't that hinder operation a bit

Not sure about that. I should probably research that and find out. Hopefully, if they are different parts and I'm sure they probably are, I can replace them with factory 9mm parts.

Might wanna check out this link:

Guy got a .357sig conversion and did some testing.

I think I found that one before. When I was researching the barrels. I currently have the Bar Sto .357 sig conversion barrel, and it works great.
