yeah i have been keeping this in mind when looking since the only reason to get the p22 is to suppress it.

All black, $180 used.

Ran like crap at first, cleaned it up, then got new mags, runs pretty good now.

I wish I could say the same about mine.  I bought mine with the long barrel almost a year ago, and did not start trying to shoot it regularly until about three weeks ago.  I have tried 4 different types of ammo, the shorter barrel, new magazines, cleaning, oiling, not oiling, adjusting springs and it still shoots like crap.

It almost consistently stovepipes the first round.  If it doesn't do that,  it fails to strip the second round from any of the four mags, sometimes it ejects the unfired round instead of chambering it, it consistently pops me on the head or in the face, and many times the rounds get stuck halfway up the chamber.  This is without doubt, the worst gun I have ever spent money on.  I own fifteen handguns and this is the only one that I can't group with.

The barrel nut will not thread off on CA models.

Eklikwhoa, I got mine from A&J's, IIRC, but at the last show I went to in Denton I think AJS' P22's were in the same price range as I paid for mine.

About $300 is what I see them going for. I have the short and long version and if I got another it would be another short version. I enjoy both of mine though.

I got it new, a local dealer had them on a seasonal clearance or something.  Not sure what he normally sells them for.  I think if you look carefully you can get a new one for around 225 (no laser), I've seen some pop up on the EE.  I don't have their ad with me, I'll check on it tomorrow morning and see what they're at now.

Do you have to have the 5" version to use a suppresor?  I have the 5" model and was wondering.  I really want to get he suppresor for it.

I have the 5" version and I think I paid $300 at a local shop. I haven't had a single problem with mine, I've been feeding it Velocitors and I even threw some remingtons that had gotten submerged in water during the storms down here and it spit them out just fine

No, you can mount a suppressor on a 3.4" as long as it is not a California-neutered model.

On a different note: My P22 rarely skips a beat. The only time I've ever had to do anything to it was when the front sight fell out of it while it was sitting in my fobus holster. S&W, however, made up for it by sending me a new one free of charge that same week. It's been a great gun for me.

to save some cost, there is a dealer selling suppressors for $95 dollars shipped in the NFA EE.  from the reviews from the ppl who have bought them, they're pretty quiet.
