My CQB eats anything I load into it with zero issues. I have never owned a Nighthawk only handled a few, but they look/feel the same as any CQB to me. I consider that to a good thing.

I was able to heft a GRP at the fun store late last year.
I came away wondering what I'd have to do to buy one.  It was nice. It was tight. It was beautiful.

Neither one should be finicky with ammo. Tight chambers may be a little rough with reloads, but any factory load should be fine with either gun. Personally, I like the Nighthawk. I'm not enamored of Wilson's safeties (either grip or thumb) and the finish on the GRP is clearly superior. The new ceramic based finishes coming out are unbelieveably tough.

American Eagle 230gr. FMJ runs fine through my CQB ($229 / 1K including shipping at ammoman).

The only ammunition my CQB does't reliably work with is Blazer aluminum.

I have a Nighthawk GRP Recon and I love it. I haven't had any problems to speak of so far. It hasn't had any trouble with Blazer Brass, Gold Dots, Winchester, and some match semi-wadcutter of a manufacturer that I forget. Of course, I haven't handled a Wilson CQB, so YMMV.

it's crap AFAIK. There are a few manufacturers that allegedly crimp ammo out of spec enough to be unreliable, Blazer was one of them. I believe Wilson has a FAQ to this effect. Otherwise a sales rep would be glad to give you the notorious brands and their numerical findings.
I have a CQB compact I just bought. I took it out to the range and fired 350 rounds without a hiccup (Winchester White box). I have had "officer's sized" pistols require a break-in, or lose reliability after 100-150 rounds. This thing is a jackhammer. Buy with confidence. |

"What's crap" is the rumor that WC pistols are particularly finicky. They stated that Blazer was not recommended because a noticable amount sampled was out of spec. I don't use Blazer, so I can't comment further. |

Ah, alright. As I said, I haven't had any problems with Blazer. It's accurate enough for practice, but I wouldn't use it in an official match or anything. It's not even particularly dirty. |

When I asked about comparison at the shot show, the NH rep told me this: Nighthawk uses a better finish coating that is 4 times tougher than WC's, comes with custom VZ grips and night sights. That may attribute to the higher price. |

The only thing I read that’s worth a few extra dollars to me is the true Novak night sights, although I never had a problem with the Wilson copies. The trit was nice & bright and the sight picture is identical to a set of Novak’s. I have never placed much faith in manufacturer claims on finishes. The truth is that if you shoot the gun enough they all end up looking the same to me. |

The GRP is using a ceramic based coating and the WC uses some sort of polymer coating. Ceramic is the next big thing in gun finishes. It has yet to be proven that new equals better, stronger or more durable in this case, but there is a material difference.
