Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Value of S&W box

I found  a blue, cardboard box for a 686 3 inch in my closet. I sold the revolver a long time a go and foorgot the box. It has the papers inside. I was told that these are worth a bit of cash.

Any info would be appreciated. I checked E bay and cant find anyhting similar.

Later ones like yours are not worth nearly as much as the older gold boxes, etc. but you may find someone who wants it and is willing to give you a few bucks for it...my guess would be maybe $10 but that IS just a guess.

Man I wish you still had the 3" 686...I've been looking for one for years.

Thanks. THe 3 inch 686 was a cool gun, but it had the worst trigger pull of any revolver I have ever owned. It was too damn loud with anything but .38's.
