I bought my USPc .40 from a local LEO (a month after he bought it his department switched to USP .40) so he sold me his USPc
Anyway I could swear he told me all i needed was a .357sig barrel to convert the gun & be able to shoot both .357sig And .40 ..... Is this true???

Barrel & probably a new recoil spring. The .357Sig has a bit more zip than the .40 does, generally speaking. Both use the same mag.

Good luck!

I've seen the .40/.357sig marked mags but never a gun marked that way

Nor will you, as the gun is marked for the caliber the barrel is made for, not what it can be changed to. Just as a .357 revolver won't (normally) also list .38spl.

In the Compact all you will need is the new barrel. Recoil spring and mags will work just fine. They do on mine. If you are concerned about the recoil (both are loaded to +P pressures) then you can always buy a recoil spring assembly also but I have never heard about nor experienced the need for one myself. In fact, in the USPC 9mm/.357/.40 manual it lists only two recoil spring assemblies, one for 9mm and one for .40 (of course the .45 needs its own assembly but we are not talking about the .45).
