I have a USP full sized .45 and I am looking into the USP .357 compact.  How does the Recoil spring assembly differ from the full size?

The full size is longer and uses two springs.  The Compact uses a shorter guide rod and only one spring but over the spring is a sliding polymer buffer ring.  The two systems are not compatible with each other but both are tuned to give the greatest recoil reduction, extremely long life, and reliable cycling in their respective firearms.
