I have a chance to trade my used Ruger Blackhawk 357 and a Beretta 21A 22 for a used Kimber Custom Stainless I. The gun comes with the original receipt from early 2001, case and manual. It appears stock, unmodified, but has not been cleaned well. Claims to have about 1000 rounds through it. Bore looks good.
Even trade. Whatsa you? Fair trade or pass?

Thanks?

Old or New model Blackhawk .357?  New model would be a smokin' deal.  An old model BH is worth considerably more and would not be as good of a trade.  Depending on the BH's condition it may still be a good trade.

Sounds like a good deal for a nice Series I.

Traded for the Kimber. It is rollmarked as a Stainless Classic. Took it out and was 100% and accurate. Changed the lousy rubber grips with checkered rosewoods and am changing the rubber mainspring housing and going to a GI recoil guide and plug as soon as Brownells delivers.

The Blackhawk was a New Model, nothing spectacular.

Thanks to all for your encouragement!

I'd say you did very well.

I have a Custom Classic I.  The only changes have been a set of checkered cocobolo grips, an Ed Brown GI recoil system, and some Heinie Straight-8 Slant Pro sights.  For now, the plastic MSH is still in it and it has held up fine.

Well done.  Enjoy!
