In the .17 caliber on a DA revolver the shell tries to backout causing some dragging when the cylinder rotates.
The SA types seem fine because your thumb does all the work directly.
I only read about this, so it's not 1st hand information.
I think it was Gun Test magazine.
Sounds like a replay of the old S&W .22 Jet with similar problems...you had to keep the chambers dry in those and I have heard that only helped a bit, not cure the problem.
