I am looking to get a new handgun pretty soon and I am interested in buying one chambered in the .357 sig cartridge. I have not shot this round yet but have heard nothing but good things about it from both people online and at the local range/shops. My collection currently consists of 9mm and .45. I am leaning towards this platform because of the great performance and because it is not common(I want something different ). I am currently looking at the Sig p229 or HK USP/P2K and have passed on the glocks because I dont like the way they feel in my hand.
So what do you guys think? Any comments or suggestions is appreciated
Thanks

I gots to say it.  I like good old fashion rounds, but the .357sig is my second favorite handgun round next to the 10mm.  I just don't think you can beat either of them.

Thanks for the repsonse! What guns do you have chambered in .357sig?
As far as the 10mm goes, that is another round that I really want to try in the future.

357 SIG is a great idea but I prefer my 10mm for versatility.

I had a Sig P239 in .357Sig and a Glock 33.  Both were great pistols.  I barely shot my Sig before I sold it but I liked the feel of it better than the Glock b/c of the wieght of the gun.  I am not up to date on HK pistols but I really don't like pistols with external safeties and I think most if not all HK's do (not counting P7 series).  Are you going to carry this gun?

If I go the HK route it would be the P2000 which is either Varient 3 DA/SA or V2 with the LEM trigger (DAO) and no external safety. I need to shoot a glock again I havnt in over a year but I remember that I didn't like it much due to the grip.

As of right now I can't carry due to me living in the Republic of NJ, but I hope to move within a year (going to a free state) so I would need something to carry.
Thanks

Didn't know that about the 2000's.  Good luck with your choice and extra good luck to get out of Jersey, I left that bastard state and never looked back.

I have a Sig p239 in .357 sig that I carry off duty. I love the gun and round. Packs a lot of power for a smaller pistol like the p239.

I have a SIG P226 with barrels for both .40SW and 357sig.

This is handy because I can shoot the cheap .40 ammo for plinking
but switch to 357 when I want a round with more juice

357sig ammo is expensive , but you can get good practice ammo
for about $10 box online.

In a full sized gun like my P226 it is a pussycat to shoot too!

Our highway patrol uses the Sig 226 in .357 sig, and they seem very happy with it.  Can't go wrong with that.  I carry a Glock 31 and 32c at work - really like the cartridge.

Thanks for the repsonses guys I appreciate it. Anyone else have an opinion on the round?

The one thing that will be a problem with the round is the lack of ammo availablity and the cost. Wheres the best place to buy and cheapest ammo to use?

Thanks

I love my USPC in 357SIG.  Great gun.  I do have a few SIG's but none in 357SIG.  I'm sure I could find a liking for a P229.  I really like the light weight of the HK, though.  Good luck.

Thanks for the response. I am planning on the .357sig as my next handgun just need to decide between the HK P2000 or the USPc.

seems like a bottle necked cartridge short and hard to reload!
