Kind of on topic… but kind of off topic. Nick at Valor just completed a very nice MEU(SOC)/M45 build for a buddy that we affectionately named the M45A2 project.
Idea behind the build was essentially, what would the MEU(SOC) look like if the PWS started building the next gen Colt replacement. I tried to blend both guns and add some evolved features to the mix. Caspian Slide and Frame, Bar Sto threaded, stamped last 4 digits, tan ion bond, SOCOM contract RMR, Stan Chen magwell. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CsT1-YtJ_A5/?igshid=ZWIzMWE5ZmU3Zg== IG Link Hope the links work. |

I served in the USMC from 89-93 and attended a MIMS course with a 2111 assigned to 2nd Force Recon. I visited him at their armory in French Creek quite regularly. I loved , what at that time, was the high speed weaponry. CAR15s, Barrett .50s, HK MP5s ( A2,A3,and SDs)….. and the MUESOC .45s !!!!!!
Wanted one for 30 years….. guess now it’s time to finally do it. Might not be a 100% exact but I’m gonna get close as I can if I build it. This thread has inspired me. Who is really the go to builder these days that can get it built before I’m too old to enjoy it…. Incase I go that route ? |

That is my initial plan with 2 pistols I have set aside.
I’ve got a nice stainless SA that after a few mods, some strategic engraving, and a blackening bath would make a really nice 4th Generation MEUSOC. It has the Cross Cannons on the right side of Springfield Armory and Model 1911-A1 Cal .45 on the opposite side of the slide with Novak sights. It also has the forward serrations on the slide as well. The other one I’m going to use is a new Tisas USMC 45 model to make a Generation 1 pistol. Yes I know the generation 1s all have US army on the receivers but I just couldn’t resist using the USMC marked receiver. I already ordered some MEUSOC parts from KC Customs to get it started ( sights, videcki solid trigger, trigger kit /hammer, ambi safety, grip safety, and mainspring with lanyard loop). I plan on engraving the slide with 7790314 to mimic a the early hard slide and a few other strategic engravings to round it out. I keep the progress posted here. Is Valor still taking on work? We had the specifics worked out for my build but when it came time for payment he went silent on me. Not sure what was going on there.

Picked up an MR07 on eBay for a fraction of what they’re going for, but it doesn’t have a slide stop. Anyone have an extra? Otherwise I’m just gonna have to make one which would be fun but also time consuming haha!

This is a long post so I apologize….
So I’ve kinda went slam crazy on my replica builds. Here is my plans as of now and if I’m heading in a bad direction please let me know as all my parts and guns are at my LGS except the Caspian as it’s in the production que. Now these will be pretty close but not 100% perfect clones other than the Caspian as it should be 100 % correct…. I think. Variant 1—— 1. Tisas GI w/ Govt and 1911A1 USMC marked frame 2. 7790314 engraved slide with RCS only 3. KCK Replica PWS Sights, grip safety, ambi safety, mainspring housing, and trigger / hammer kit 4. Videcki soild trigger 5. Pachmayer Grips 6. Bar-Sto Semi Fit 7. 1piece guide, GI plug, 18.5 recoil spring 8. Ser# engraved on right side rear of slide, both sides of safety. Variant 2——— 1. Tisas GI w/ Govt and 1911A1 US Army marked frame 2. SA Slide w/ cross cannons behind ejection port and RCS only. 3. KCK Replica PWS Sights, grip safety, ambi safety, mainspring housing, and trigger / hammer kit 4. Videcki 3 hole trigger 5. Pachmayer Grips 6. Bar-Sto Semi Fit 7. 1piece guide, GI plug, 18.5 recoil spring 8. Ser# engraved on right rear side of slide, both sides of safety Variant 4 ——— 1. SA Frame with added govt engravings to help not correct receiver 2. SA Slide with cross cannons on right of ejection port and novaks sights and Front and Rear CSs 3. C&S USMC hammer group 4. KKC ambi safety 5. Modified SA Grip safety to favor Ed Brown 6. Bar-Sto Semi Fit 7. Videcki 3 hole trigger 8. Pachmayer Grips 9. KKC mainspring housing 10. 1piece guide, GI plug, 18.5 recoil spring 11. Ser# engraved on right rear side of slide, both sides of safety. Variant 4/5 (?)——— 1. Caspian MEUSOC frame with MC serial number 2. Caspian slide with front and rear CSs and EGA on both sides and USMC on ejection side. Novak cut 3. C&S USMC Hammer Group 4. Ed Brown grip safety 5. Ed Brown Match Ambi safety 6. Videcki 3 hole trigger 7. Bar-sto Semi Fit 8. Pachmayer Grips 9. KKC mainspring housing 10. All other small parts off PWS build sheet I do have a few questions. 1. I saw both bar-sto barrels marked with RTE and PWS… any rule as to which markings go with which variant? Early vs late variants ? 2. Are last 4 ser # on barrel? 3. Are the last 4 on the side of the grip safety or inside … seen both 4. What variant quit with the slide, ambi safety, grip safety serial number stamps? Seems like maybe V3 was the last ones or did it continue through all. Thanks for any help on these projects !! Semper Fi |

So I had picked this up awhile back on a whim.
![]() If I do one of these builds I will want novak sights with a tritium front dot probably. So is the above slide not correct for that and I would be better off with a later slide with the front cross cannons and serrations? Varient 4 i think? I think the above is only variant 1 correct? ![]() If so I will probably throw the above slide up on the EE Also does anyone know why the grips in the picture don't have the medallion? I actually snaged them at the CMP store. So they are some kind of surplus. |

Can anyone advise on the Caspian Arms slide with the EGA and USMC markings ( variant 4/5?) are the last 4 of the serial numbers on the slide and safeties like the earlier variants have ?
