I am just about ready to plop down money for a Taurus Raging Bull Matte stainless. I have always wanted one. I can't decide if I want the 454 or the 44 mag. I realize that I can shoot 45 Colt out of the 454 and 44 special out of the 44 mag. I will probably shoot lower recoiling ammo out of both and save the other stuff when I really want to make some noise. This gun is primarily for FUN. I can't decide what barrel length or caliber to get. What is the difference in recoil and price between .44 special and 45 colt factory ammo? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

The 44 spl and 45 Colt are both expensive. The high pressure loads for the 45 Colt from the likes of
corbon, buffalo bore and such are very expensive. I like to carry a 4.5" revolver, I like to shoot a 7.5" revolver so I learned live with a 5.5" or 6" revolver. I can't help with your selection as I am a S/A revolver type guy.
