I have the v-12.  I purchased mine new about 8 years ago I think.  Very nice and accurate.  The recoil is reduced quite a bit.  I would say it was a decent purchase.

800 bucks for a longslide in really good shape is decent but not a steal. I was never a fan of the ports because of the extra noise and mess so I wouldnt pay any more than a standard longslide

i agree, good but not great.
SA will sell you a bull barrel for about $150.
OP, you do know that gun can shoot .45super, right?
i tried to buy my buddy's that said .45super on the slide but he sold it before i could get back to dallas.
mine came w/two springs.

A 6" stainless SA with 16 rocket ports? Yeah, I'd have to get that, but maybe would try to move him down another notch on the price - I saw a cash price of $872 brand new - $750 might be okay if the thing is like new with box, book, spare factory mag, etc. I once had a V-10 Ultra-Compact. You talk about rocket exhaust? The fire/sparks shot up about 18" off that little sucker, but the ports worked as-advertised to control flip. It was reliable and accurate. The fire out of a 6" barrel would be considerably less but would be visible. If I got one, I think I would have to get another one to match and learn to shoot them both at once. As a novelty conversation piece that could save your life when things go bump in the night, it would be hard to pass it up.

May have to get rid of my MC Operator to get it, thats probably not a wise decision but something about that V16 I like.

even if you had a solid barrel it's not going to rise much as the muzzle is waaaayy out there.
when i first got mine my buddy said it almost resembles a 20 oz hammer(silhouette).

V16 longslide has been on my wish list for a few years.  I have yet to run across one near me for sale.
