Springfield MC Operator or Kimber TLE/RL II
I reall like the look and feel of both these (no I can't buy both).

Pricing being equal, which would be the better gun, out of the box, with regards to reliability and dependability?

I don't think there are any differences in quality or reliability. Both are outstanding pistols.

Go with the Springfield. Had a Kimber...got rid of soon after the sear went south. Stamped part not forged. Also, no customer service from Kimber. Local shop was master dealer has since dropped all ties with Kimber due to lack of customer service.
