Anyone have one?  How does it shoot?  Reliability, durability?

I have a GI and it's FUCKING AWESOME.

I paid $375 for it new at Sportsman's Warehouse a year and a half ago. The sad thing is that it nearly outshoots my $1200.00 Springfield TRP. If the sights on the GI were better, I'd be really conflicted.

Mine shoots great. JHP's too. A lot of vintage form 1911 pistol for the money ($399 for me).

I picked up a lightly-used Springfield GI Champion 4" and ran 400+ rds through it over the weekend.  Only feeding problems were with the cheap factory mag that came with it (probably why the previous owner dumped it), my Kimber and Chip McCormick stainless mags worked perfectly.

I need to get a beavertail safety for it, the factory piece is chewing up my hand.  While it's getting that installed, I'll probably have a Commander hammer installed.  But that's it.  Honest.  No more mods.  Really.

Fantastic pistol. Mine needed about 200 rds to break-in, but after that it works perfectly.

I have the Champion Mil-spec.  I love it.  It shoots straight and feeds everthing.   One more trip to the range and some nice leather, it will be my CCW.  Can't go wrong.
