I have a chanc to trade my Kimber Custom Combat for a Springfield TRP in stainless.
The Kimber has IMAC night sights and is a series 1,other than the sights it is bone stock. The TRP is new in the box with night sights , kevlar grip panels and some other internal mods to enhance reliability(New ejecter, extractor and a few other minor parts changed).
I can do a deal with my kimber and $200.00, should I trade a pistol that shoots well just for something because it's a TRP. I mean not really gaing excent in perceived value difference.

Both are nice pistols, but there is very little difference between the two...keep the Kimber and modify it later if you choose with the $200 you save...besides, you know the gun you have now...the other is an unknown quanity. That's what I'd do, anyway.

Aren't the Springfield .45's made in Brazil?

I'd keep the Kimber.

Keep the Kimber.  Have you held the TRP?  I've looked at them and they just feel like a brick in the hand.  That front strap checkering is pretty harsh feeling too.

Goin' with the flow, keep the Kimber.
As said, that TRP is an unknown entity and may have lots of "miles" or kitchen table gunsmithing done to it.
The fact the SA is forged in Brazil does not bother me...the fact they are not completely "finished" does. (my ongoing beef)
Hold the two side by side and note how "slabby" the SA frame looks...grip straps, trigger guard and dust cover. (I do love mine, none the less)
I get the "trade fever" myself, from time to time because I can't own them all, but I can at least say "I had one of those".
