Hi,

I have a question regarding this pistol: http://www.springfield-armory.com/prod-pstl-1911-pro.shtml

Does the SA 1911A1 PRO model use MIM parts? Does it have a firing pin safety? Is this model reliable? Good enough for you to trust your life on it?

No, the pro as far as I know is the only Springfield that does not.

Yes the mag catch and the firing pin stop.

Does it have a firing pin safety?


NO FIRING PIN SAFETY !!!!

No worries Brian,

I didn't know either untill after I bought one, good news is I got a great deal on it and those two parts are nothing to change out.
