Thanks for the review and please keep us updated as you get more experience using the Smartcarry.

One question:  Does the pistol end up pointing at your femoral artery (at the inside of your thigh)?  I know it shouldn't be pointing at 'Junior' or his two friends.  But the femoral artery thing would make me nervous.

I use a smartcarry at work daily. You usually don't notice it at all. I would advise not wearing overly tight pants with it. You will print if you do. I do find crouching down with it a bit awkward. As for shooting yourself. The trigger is well covered and if you draw properly (according to the instructions) your not sticking your hand in your pants to retrieve it. You must practice drawing from this holster. It is nothing like using a regular holster.

How is it to draw while driving or seated?

I would advise not wearing overly tight pants, ever.

I don't think so. It seems to be more parallel with your leg.

Thanks for the info.

If people were killing themselves with this holster, I think we'd have heard about it.

Quite true.  I haven't heard of any actual problems myself.

I have used Smartcarry for quite a few years now, and I love them.  I personally don't like IWB holsters, just a thing.

Anway, I own several, or I have 2 and my wife has 1.  We use them to conceal 1911 compacts ( Kimber Compact ), and I also carry a full size 1911, as well as my CZ75B ( not quite as comfortable ).   We use them a lot during the summer with shorts since it conceals so well for us.

When sitting, if you have to draw, throw your hips up and then draw.  Makes it much easier.

Of course there are people that don't like them, for differing reasons.  If you can, find someone that has one that you can try first.

I am sitting my my computer wearing my smartcarry right now.

Awesome specialized holster.  I can wear it with amlomst anything.

1.  Do not wear overly tight pants.
2.  Practice draws.
3.  It takes a bit to figure out exqactly where you will wear yours.  I've been using mine for many moons and it works great.  If I move it over/up/down an inch or two I get major pinching issues which I will save arfcom from listening to.

Looks like a really good concealment holster alright. How much did that cost you. I might consider getting one myself for my Beretta Model 96.
