I have swapped .357 Sig barrels into both of my P229s in 40 S&W without any problem. I did use factory Sig barrels for the swaps.

How 'bout the SPRING...?

Is the spring the same for a 40 and a 357 SIG ?

I an not sure how much of a difference maybe 2lbs but there is supposed to be astiffer spring in the 357

I shoot 357sig and 40 out of my 229 DAK all day long with no problems.

SIG lists the same recoil spring part number for both calibers.

Wolff lists 2 different spring weights. 16 lbs. for the .40 S&W and 17 lbs. for the 357 SIG.

Either will work just fine for you.

Get a Barsto 9mm barrel and use the same gun for 3 calibers. You can also use the same mag. In fact you can load 2 more rounds of 9mm in a 357/40 magazine.
