I got my P228 back from Robar about a month ago. It was there for 9 weeks, over twice as long as I was quoted on the phone. It's now a two-tone (NP3) just like factory Sigs, i.e. the magazine release button backing plate, barrel, rod guide, and frame remain black. I bought it NIB in April, and I only put enough rounds through it to ensure reliability before sending it off to Robar.

In the end it was worth the wait. Cleaning is now a piece of cake. The only complaints I've ever heard about the P228 were rust related, and the NP3 should eliminate any chance of that happening.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was the cost???

It was about $175 including return shipping.  Not too cheap, but IMHO worth the price.

NP3 is great stuff.  I had my Kimber TLEII refinished inside and out with NP3 (Pic's on "Kimber"-this site).  Robar is a little slow on their turn around, but it really is worth the wait.  Good looking Sig!

Looks like.....MINE!

Very nice work.  Though a matte hard chrome would have been a little less...just sayin....aw fuck it, it looks great.  Long live the P228!

Very nice. Been thinking about sending mine off to CCR and getting it hard chromed. A nice set of Nills would be the finishing touch.

CCR only doesn't do hard chrome unless that's something new. When they do, I'll be in line.

For paint on finishes I do them myself with my airbrush setup. However, anything else would be NP3. That is the only finish I would actually send my weapons off for now since it is probably the best finish on the plannet. Well worth it if you grab a 20% deal.

Great looking P228, is the frame Roguarded or stock?

[#16]
The frame is stock.  It was basically NIB when I had it done, so I saw no need to refinish the frame.

Damn she looks good.  My ol' 228 rusts but no where that is important; it's just a work-a-holic.

matt33,  Greetings.  I believe the front and rear sights need to be removed before the refinishing.  Do they offer the option of a live fire sight in after reinstallation?

You are correct- the sights do need to be removed.  I think Robar will sight it in, but I seem to remember it being expensive.  Mine was not centered when it was returned to me from Robar, but a local Sig dealer used his sight pusher to square it up.

Very nice Sig.  Where did you get the silver parts like the trigger, decocker, etc???  I've been looking for some for my 220r for awhile now.
Thanks.

Nice job there. I am glad I seen the picture. I have been picking my brain about what finish I wanted to have mine done with. I have a 228, a 226 (or two) and a 220 I want to get the slides done on. I think I have made up my mind.

If anyone send theres off and need to get the sights off or re-adjusted shoot me a email. I have a SIG sight pusher and will help you out if your in the area.
