I was wondering if the G10 grips are thinner compare to the older sig 229 two piece grips?

I can only speak for my X-Five grips (plastic ones, not wood).
They seem about the same, maybe the G10 is a very small tad wider but the grip difference is unbelievable compared to the slick factory Sig grips.
G10 = good
Factory plastic = slippery

G10's feel a bit thinner to me, but I have never actually measured.
If you want thin look at getting a E2 grip kit.

I second the recommendation for the E2 grip kit. Put these on my M11-A1 and for me they are great.

E2s are something you either like or don't like. In my case, I took them off my P220 and replaced them with G10s.
