I was at the range yestereday with my Springfield .45 and my 10/22 just punching paper when two guys came over each with a Glock. I've been thinking about a Glock as my next handgun (need something in 9mm as its so much cheaper then .45) and asked him if he would let me fire a few rounds out of his 17 (told him he could fire my .45 if he wanted). First thing I noticed was how light the gun was compared to my 1911. Then I noticed how low the sights/slide were compared to my 1911. The magazine was quite difficult to load (even with that helper thing). I put in 10 rounds and aimed at a large target at 25 yards and the 1st shot supprised me. It broke almost as light and clean as my 1911! The recoil was very low and the gun was quite accurate. I think I'm sold now on getting a Glock!

Hi caps are easier to load than the 10 rounders.

I shot my first GLOCK 19 ten years ago and yet to find anything I like better.

Was at the local gun store looking at the Glocks again. I damn near got one especially after my friend was going to get a G20 but put it on lay-away. The G17's go for $559 which I thought was kind of high compared to the prices I've seen on the net. Probably get one through this store that I found: http://topglock.com Anyone dealt with them?

I tried to go through TopGlock but ran into problems with my (previous) FFL. Seems TopGlock isn't (wasn't) an FFL, they just do the shipping. My dealer wouldn't send his FFL to a non FFL.

I've had good luck with Glockmeister but I found a different dealer who actually knows how to place special orders. Locally a Glock will cost me $550. I can get them cheaper on the net but shipping & a $20 transfer fee eats up most of the savings, YMMV.

Is that price with night sights if so it is a pretty good deal.

I got the ultimate hook-up, a friend who has a FFL sold one to me at his cost without a transfer fee. Glock 22 with Factory Mepro-night sights for $565 CASH!

I may have to go back and get a Glock 34
